The University Co-operative Society has sponsored the UT Fashion Show since 2000. This sponsorship enables the school to stage a professional quality event. The show is well attended and in the last 13 years has grown from an audience of 500 in 1997 to 5,000 in 2011.
Graduates from the Apparel Design Program go on to internship placements then design and product development careers in prominent fashion companies including the following: Ralph Lauren, Diane Von Furstenberg, Zac Posen, Marc Jacobs, Betsey Johnson, Rodarte, Michael Kors, Abercrombie & Fitch, Macy’s, Guess, Jones, Coach, Neiman Marcus, Sears, JCPenny, Talbots, Alexander Wang, Fossil, Nanette Lepore, Rachel Roy and Vera Wang.
This is the biggest fashion show held in Austin and the result of my college career in fashion. Please come out and support me and 21 other designers as we present what we have been working on this whole year. Invite anyone and everyone!! :P For people who are not in Austin but still will like to support us it is live on web as well. (Please look at the link below)
The seating is based on first come first serve but if enough people RSVP then I'lll reserved a section off in the free seating area for people.
There isn't really a dress code but it is a fashion show, so you will usually not see basketball shorts or sweatpants. :)
There will also be a after party with TV people and media people (for people of age), you are welcome to come. :)
