  About this Month's Event Investor and entrepreneur Peter Thiel is our guest this month. Peter is a renowned contrarian who is usually right and always controversial.  He is one of the most central figures in the Web 2.0 revolution. He was a college chum of Reid Hoffman and Keith Rabois, a co-founder of PayPal, a don of the PayPal mafia, and the first institutional investor in Facebook. Whether you agree with him or not, Peter is one of the premier thought-leaders in the Valley. My TechCrunch post on his program to reward a handful of would-be entrepreneurs to drop out of college generated more traffic -- and debate-- than nearly anything else I wrote for the blog.  Also, he has a butler. A surprisingly few number of people in the Valley have butlers.  Peter and I will talk about the state of the Valley, the early days of PayPal and Facebook, the education bubble and his claims that the Valley is focusing too much on "140 characters" and not enough on "flying cars."
