On Thursday, April 19, from 6-8pm, Clic Gallery will host a two-part event, celebrating the opening reception of ROADSONGS, a solo photography exhibition by New York-based artist Jordan Sullivan, and the launch of British photographer Ben Rayner's new book, (Un)Familiar.
About Roadsongs:
ROADSONGS is Jordan Sullivan's first solo exhibition at Clic Gallery. Drawing from personal history, ROADSONGS brings together a collection of Sullivan's recent photographs and prose. Central to the exhibit are eight landscapes shot on the road between New Mexico, Texas, and California. These images, coupled with selections of prose, explore the emotional states associated with place, while continuing Sullivan's exploration of transience and it's effect on his own perceptions of memory, freedom, and home.
Roadsongs runs from April 19 - May 13
About (Un)Familiar:
Ben Rayner spent a large part of 2011 traveling between a number of cities. (Un)Familiar is the result of this time. The book, the first publication by UK publisher Greenback Editions, is a search for the familiar in foreign places.
