Jesse Brewster
http://www.jessbrew.com/
Having spent much of his musical career as a sideman, San Francisco native Jesse Brewster is taking his rightful spot at the front of the stage. Brewster's sound fuses a Rock/Americana style he describes as "Tom Petty and Lynyrd Skynyrd get into a bar room brawl with Neil Young and John Mayer." Jesse Brewster's parents brewed his love for music at an early age. There was always something on the record player, be it Willie Nelson, The Stones or Bob Marley. At the
age of 12 he started his first band with his brother Jim on drums and childhood friend Uriah Duffy (Whitesnake, Lyrics Born) on bass. "I can't remember a time in my life when music wasn't important to me," he says. “It’s the greatest medium allowing you to express anger and rebellion, playful sarcasm, tenderness and beauty- it’s everything.”
Ali Handal
http://alihandal.com/
Best known as one of the few women in rock who can solo with the electric fury and fluid grace of a Hendrix, Slash or Page, Ali Handal is also a multi-award winning songwriter and a uniquely gifted singer. Her songs have been heard in many movies and TV shows, and her performances have taken her from L.A. to Australia, Japan and beyond; she’s sung on a Neil Young album, written & performed with Paul Williams, danced with Janet Jackson, performed at Neverland Valley Ranch, had her hands filmed playing guitar in a Playboy video, and even demonstrated guitars several times on “The Price Is Right.”
Guitar Player magazine describes Ali’s most recent CD, Make Your Move, as “a mélange of riff-fueled rockers that could stand up to anything broadcast on ‘The Midnight Special’ in the ’70s, dreamy singer/songwriter fare, funk workouts, and ballads spritzed with Beatles essence.” Ali’s own Guitar Method book will be released by Hal Leonard this summer
Valerie Orth
http://www.valerieorth.com/
Described as "sexy, soulful, genuine, and edgy" by the San Francisco Bay Guardian and an "indie folk powerhouse" by Bend's Source Weekly, Valerie Orth is a fearless and genre-bending songwriter. Her distinctive hybrid of rock, groove, soul, and folk reaches out and grabs your attention; her live performances captivate and charm at once.
Rich with melody and metaphor, Orth's tunes move nimbly between darkness and light, hope and despair, taking deft turns of phrase along unforeseen rhythmic twists in the road. With gorgeous, multi-octave vocals and no fear of heights, she flirts with the edge as readily as she subverts expectations.
