Sky Candy’s latest aerial theatrical creation is a steampunk-inspired interpretation of The Time Machine.  The show brings together contemporary circus elements like trapeze and contortion acts along with dance and martial arts to the narrative. Conceived and directed by Sky Candy resident performer Joanna Wright, The Time Machine is set in 1895 and follows the story of an inventor who perfects a time machine that will take him and a friend 800,000 years into the future. They encounter several new races of people, including the Eloi, a gentle, innocent people living in the treetops, and the Morlocks, a mysterious clan who dwell in the underworld. “Our adaptation of ‘The Time Machine’ takes inspiration directly from the book, which is packed with strong imagery and characters that create a perfect canvas for us to tell the story through a blend of acting and aerial dance,” said Joanna Wright director and Sky Candy resident performer. If you loved Sky Candy's debut production, The Red Shoes, you will be absolutely enamored with our latest creation!   FAQ What is the difference between floor seats and bleacher seats? We have two kinds of seating: Bleacher Seating is open seating on our 80 person capacity bleachers. Floor Seating is open seating on gymnastics mats in front of our bleachers, closer to the stage. If you require a seat with a backrest or additional padding, please let us know.  We can make a limited number of such accommodations per performance.    Is this show appropriate for kids? Similarly to The Red Shoes, The Time Machine features no nudity or profanity and a minimum amount of simulated violence.  However, the themes of the show may be disturbing to some younger viewers.  We ask that all children under 13 come in attendance with a parent or guardian and leave it up to individual discretion to determine if such content is appropriate.   Can I buy tickets with cash or check?
