SPEAKERS ON THE NIGHT WILL INCLUDE:
Lizza Gebilagin
Lizza Gebilagin is a social entrepreneur who believes in creating social impact through innovation and creativity. She first got a taste of magazines, pop culture and the power of storytelling by working for Rolling Stone. Since then she has freelanced for music publications in Toronto, dabbled in politics and currently works as the Chief Subeditor of Cleo Magazine.
Lizza started social enterprise Corker Media in 2007 to help promote the work of Australian creatives. She'll be graduating from the School for Social Entrepreneurs in May 2012
Seema Duggal
Seema Duggal is a writer, editor, entrepreneur, digital lover, project manager and crazy lady who moved swiftly from the world of Amnesty International to the world of News Limited to the somewhat evil world of fashion to the world of Pilates instruction to the world of mere confusion.
Her own projects have included the online magazine, Side Street, Sydney (http://www.sidestreetsydney.com.au), the online shop Final Episode (which she shut down a month ago, RIP) and her blog, This is not pretty (http://thisisnotpretty.com).
Â
Seema believes she is finally settling in to her calling with her not for profit media project, This Place is Yours, which will use the power of language, art and storytelling to enhance mental health, social inclusion and social change. Seema came up with the idea after a period of blinding depression, during which she discovered the cathartic power of writing and self-expression. The project will launch later this year.
