-IMMEDIATE RELEASE-
ATTENTION ALL OCCUPY MOVEMENT SUPPORTERS:
Jonathan Zook, a middle school teacher, was exonerated this morning of his charges for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and assault on the Anti-NDAA protest on December 17th, 2011. Jonathan "was found guilty only of interfering with a police officer... [for this] lone guilty charge, Judge Karin Immergut has sentenced Zook to 2 days in jail, 1 year probation, a $400 fine, and 80 hours of community service." WE MUST NOT LET THE SYSTEM WIN!
This trial represents exactly what the movement has been about. Battling the unjust system and the tyranny that seeks to enslave us in a convoluted cycle of fees, jail time, and community service at our expense. Jonathan was marching peacefully with the rest of us when he was arrested that day in front of his family - his wife, daughter and son.
We are asking for supporters to rise up and protest against his sentences as he represents the battle for all of us. This is the first Occupy Portland trial case. We need your support. Please spread the message locally to everyone you know and encourage people to come together and rally against this madness.
THEY WILL NOT WIN IF WE STAND UNITED! PETITION FOR RETRIAL OR REMOVAL OF JONATHAN'S CHARGES NOW!
