“ On 12-13 June in Krakow there will take place the first international conference on new technologies - Bitspiration. The event, which will be held wholly in English, attracted such stars as the co-founder of Youtube - Jawed Karim, Jon Bradford (Managing Director of Springboard) and the first telephone hacker and programming genius - John Draper. Bitspiration is the first event in the region of Central and Eastern Europe which is planned to be a counterweight to such events in technological map of Western Europe as Le Web in Paris, NEXT in Berlin or The Next Web in Amsterdam. Bitspiration will eventually become the most important conference in the CEE region, on the one hand focusing on the world-renowned technology trades, as this year's speakers Jawed Karim (one of YouTube co-founders and investor), John Draper (first phone hacker, author of a text editor for the Apple II) and Mamoon Hamid (investor in Silicon Valley, a former member of the Yammer management board) and on the second hand concentrating experts in the field of IT and investment in Central - Eastern Europe, as Natasha Starkell (GoalEurope CEO) and Paul Jozefak (investor and partner at Neuhaus Partners). "-We would like to make this conference different than all others, so we focused on the elements such as people you have a chance to meet, atmosphere formed by organizers and availability of speakers. It all makes this experience unique for the attendees”- says co-organizer of Bitspiration, Krzysztof Kowalczyk, a partner in a VC fund early stage and seed, HardGamma Ventures. Therefore, the conference has a limit as 150 attendees and will take place in cafes at Kazimierz Disctrict in Krakow. - "A limited number of attendees and the unique atmosphere of Krakow cafes give the event a specific artistic and intellectual climate, make it easy to establish relationships with other participants and learn from the conference something for everyone" - notes Bitspiration co-organizer, Andrew Targosz, president of the PROIDEA Foundation for Supportin IT Education . Krakow was elected not randomly for the Bitspiration conference. "-On the European startup scene, we see a lot of activity in London, Berlin, and recently in Paris. Each of these cities would like to be an European Silicon Valley "- notes Krzysztof Kowalczyk. "- We would like Poland, and especially Krakow to join to the top and become a leader in the region of Central and Eastern Europe" - he adds. Krakow is already known as a mecca of great engineers -where R & D Motorola, Google and IBM have their headquarters. "-We would like to show the world that next to programmers we also have experts in the field of new technologies, from business and investment up to communications" - says Andrzej Targosz.
