ART SHOW - RETRO CARTOONS - DANCE PARTY

Please join hosts Lincoln Michel and Alison Kuo for a screening of their favorite animations from the 1930s and beyond. From the senseless mayhem of war depicted in Disney's "Hot Chocolate Soldiers" to the grueling Dada fun house of "Bimbo's Initiation" these works tap into a sweet, albeit troubled, spot in the American consciousness. Psychedelia, decadence, the occult, the cute, the confused, unreasonable and sexy can all be found here.

As an added treat the Brooklyn art club Draw Thyme will be presenting a group show of their recent work. Cartoon abominations are no stranger to Draw Thyme, whose meetings are often filled with drawing games based around the humor of misinterpretation.

A reception for the show will be followed by the screening (8pm) and a dance party DJ'ed by the Kings County Society for Fitness, Science, and Musical Merriment. So bring your booty.
