Banks Got BAILED out We Got SOLD out!!!
The Federal Government is bereft of new ideas and can no longer provide for the needs of its citizenry. We propose to gather at the Oakland Federal Building on May 1st to conduct a NON VIOLENT Artistic gathering of the 99% to let our government hear our dis satisfactions and our dreams.
A) Speak out
Give groups who have been harmed by the federal governments policies a chance to speak. Immigrants, Black Americans, Medical Marijuana patients, students, Muslims, People with "disabilities", the unemployed and underemployed, homeowners, workers, ANYONE AND EVERYONE. We all got sold out. Let’s let ‘em know that we haven’t forgotten. SPEAK OUT
B) ART IN: Highlight the need for art and artists in our society, and protest the cuts to art education. Invite people to dance, sing, recite poetry, or otherwise artistically present their protests or visions. Bring our songs of peace, our poems of pain, our pictures of a better tomorrow. Let’s use the power of our creative spirit to convey the need for our society to become more imaginative in solving our problems. Let us remind eachother that artists and musicians have been at the front of movement for peace, love, and understanding. If anything should be prioritized right now it is our pursuit of arts and crafts, yet funding is slashed, and artists scrape to survive. Let our creativity ring out and spread. Local artists of all types please present your gifts to the people at the Federal Building on May Day.
C) Non Violent Civil Disobedience: A blockade or shut down of the Federal Building. Let us make clear our request that the Federal Building be shut down for the May 1st. All workers should be given a paid holiday, and the politicians should spend the day hearing what the people have said. Let us non violently and creatively help facilitate this holiday or let us decide upon a method in which we want to convey our message as a group.
