I have a question for you: ARE YOU GRATEFUL I'M ON THIS PLANET?

Have you ever enjoyed a song I belted in Portuguese? Did I cook you some yummy food? Have you learned natural building techniques or danced the night away at my house? Have i ever offered some stellar advice, a cold beverage, a good idea, a shoulder to lean on? Am i (generally speaking) a pleasant addition to the family tree?! Have I been a good colleague, daughter, comrade, niece, travel buddy, bandmate, roommate, amigo?

I don't like to compliment myself and usually get uncomfortable when too much attention or praise is sent my way - but this birthday - I'm gunna cash in my good karma points and ask you ONE SMALL FAVOR in honor of my 33rd trip around the sun: PLEASE SUPPORT MY DREAM

As you know, I started EcoRise a few years back. It is by far the most challenging thing I have ever embarked upon. Right now we are on the CUSP of insane GREATNESS. We have served over 600+ kids in the last three years - but NOW - we have the opportunity to serve Thousands and in a year or two, reach youth on an international scale. However, today we are in this tender little point of our evolution where we can fold a in few months if we don't reach out to our community for a little LOVE! I usually avoid asking friends and family for donations, but this year I am making an exception because there is too much at stake.

WHAT THE HELL DO WE ACTUALLY DO? In a nutshell, we empower youth to design a sustainable future for all. We work with schools to teach environmental literacy, design and leadership skills and then challenge kids to solve real-world problems. Besides sustainability, we talk about things like systems-thinking, empathy, the power of storytelling, legacy, global citizenship, conscious consumerism, nature as mentor, innovation......designing transformative solutions to the problems in our world. Dreaming and Leading change for a healthy planet and prosperous community.

HERE'S THE DEAL: We recently launched a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign on the Start Some Good platform. Its sort of like getting pledges for running a marathon. Our goal is $15k, but we need at least $8,750 in pledges to reach our "tipping point". Otherwise, we dont get SQUAT. We are currently $6k short of reaching our tipping point and we have 24 days left. This money will allow us to reach seven schools this fall. Please please please (with sugar on the top) bestow with the following birthday gift upon me and Nothing Else:

The beautiful thing about this, is that is doesn't require big donations to pull this off.... it takes a bunch of little donations that ADD UP. Power of the People!
