Daughn Gibson has a thing for old cowboy music-- the kind that you find on musty, old shellac vinyl in thrift shops. He largely built his solo debut, All Hell, out of those records' bits and parts: imagine James Blake in a ten-gallon cowboy hat, or J Dilla working out a serious Glenn Miller jones, and you might be floating somewhere near the stylized little Americana snow-globe that Gibson is gently shaking on All Hell. "Tiffany Lou" is one of the album's strongest tracks, a song that's made up pitched-down, highly medicated-sounding vocal loop, harmonizing tiredly with itself. Over this unsettling backdrop, Daughn spins a song about the exact kind of no-hope characters these songs are supposed to be about, telling an compelling and inscrutable little tale even as his words are slurred to near-unintelligibility.

Judson Claiborne
Judson Claiborne is the reclamation of a name given to me by my father. It’s also the name I chose for this band. We formed in 2007 following the end of my previous project, Low Skies. We made our first record, Before Midnight Scholar (self-released 2008) to document rebirth into a greater awareness and consciousness with new collaborative partners and to celebrate the return of dormant creative energies. Time and Temperature (La Societe Expeditionnaire 2010) was written and recorded with a similar spirit but with emphasis on the transformation of the human psyche by way of life’s companions and mysterious pathways. We are currently at work on a new album that we hope to release in the spring of 2013. Performing is of course essential communication for us to convey our ideas, emotions, and to transmit the full expression of this music. Since founding of this band, we’ve had the honor of sharing a stage with Andrew Bird, Cass McCombs, Shannon Wright, The Cave Singers, Grant Lee Phillips, Haley Bonar, Freakwater, and Jana Hunter (Lower Dens).

Tomorrow Tomorrow
Tomorrow Tomorrow is a new project centered around singer Meredith DiMenna, who recently made waves as featured vocalist on "Legend in My Own Mind" by The Stepkids (http://youtu.be/B3ahYMQA8TY). The music on their upcoming debut album, GENTLEMEN GO, is a swelling, organ-drenched time capsule of ’60s studio craftsmanship, conjured up with Bridgeport based producer Chris Sanchez of Gold Coast Recorders. Songs were carefully chosen from the catalogues of both DiMenna and Sanchez as well as some of their songwriting friends and peers. The result is a riveting collection of psychedelic-country-torch songs: everything from the Jack White-era Loretta Lynn of "Bible Code" to the avant-gospel of "Can't See My Sun" and the death-blues of "Grey Haired Girl". The album features appearances from members of The Stepkids, Mates of State, The Fever, The Shivers, Moonraker, and Caravan of Thieves.
It also achieves the seemingly impossible, stretching the chameleonic DiMenna vocally from primitive warbler to beguiling torch songstress.
