Sunday, May 6 is Lemonade Day. 60,000 kids have learned how to start, own and operate their first business – a lemonade stand. They open shop on Sunday all across Houston. Thirsty cyclists, drivers and pedestrians are invited to join a crawl in the Heights, buy lemonade [lots of lemonade], and have these kids steal your hearts. They are saving for college, getting puppies, going to camp, sharing with nonprofits and more with their profits - and opening bank accounts so they can be their own investor next year.
11:15AM - Meet at Menchies on 19th in Heights [a portion of the proceeds from this stand are being donated to DePelchin Children's Center.]
We'll set off at 11:45am and crawl [in our air conditioned cars ... or bike if you're brave] down Yale hitting up Habitation Realty, and over to Heights Blvd for Donovan Park and other stands we meet along the way.
We'll end our excursion on White Oak around 1pm - grab some nosh & sangria at D'Amico and swap stories of our favorite recipes, business stories and resourceful kiddos.
Is your child's stand in the Heights and you want to be added to the crawl itinerary? Make your site and add it to our map!
