We will start at the same Starbucks that we use on our Oakland/Piedmont Walk\, which is near the corner of Broadway &\; West Grand\, 3 short blocks North of the 19th Street BART Station. At 10:40 we will start walking to the Whole Foods Market about 4 blocks away\, just like our Oakland/Piedmont Walk.\n \n I encourage attendees to take BART or some other public transportation. However\, if you need to drive there is free parking at Oakland meter spaces on Sundays. Everyone should bring water\, paper towels and a map. Kids and cameras are very welcome. Dogs and other pets are not welcome. The only cost is $2 per adult. Kids free.\n \n After Whole Foods we will walk to the Morcom Rose Garden to eat our sack lunches because it is the only place around big enough for our group to eat lunch. Therefor\, we are forced to eat an early lunch at about 11:50 AM. Attendees who can'\;t eat lunch that early may eat their lunches about 1:40 PM at our next restroom stop at the Davie Memorial Stadium (if they eat quickly).\n \n After the rose garden we will walk through 16 hidden pathways and stairs to and inside Oakland'\;s Lakeshore Neighborhood. We shortened this walk from 18 to 16 pathways because City Hall has closed 2 pathways. We will visit the Davie Memorial Stadium\, a tennis stadium inside of a natural bowl of ground and plants. This is one of our hardest walks. We expect to reach the end about 4:00 PM. This walk is long and goes up and down a lot. Two days before a walk I e-mail all a weather report.\n \n This walk'\;s pathways and stairs range from just passable to good. Some of the concrete stairs have moved over the decades and attendees will have to watch their feet on all the pathways every second so as to not twist an ankle or fall down.\n \n The ending point is the 19th Street BART Station. Then I will lead others to the starting point Starbucks.
