You won't want to miss what will be Billie Williams' debut cabaret show, "FADE TO BLUES." Musical Direction from "The Fartiste" composer Michael Roberts.
Billie Williams has been a professional vocalist since her teens and has sung blues, jazz, country, pop/rock and songs from the Great American Songbook. A native of the Boston area, as a teenager Billie co-founded the country swing band Columbus East. She went on the sing with the rock band Mezz and then with the 8-piece R&B band City Edition. During her years with City Edition she shared the stage with R&B legends Wilson Pickett and Sam & Dave. The Boston Globe called Billie’s performance with City Edition “…riveting…she sang of joy and heartache with equal conviction.”
When Billie arrived in New York City she landed a gig as lead vocalist with blues band The Lenny Nelson Project. After taking time off to raise her daughter, Billie returned to performing, most recently with her cabaret show “Sentimental Journeys,” in which she appeared with actress/singer Jean Tafler and vocalist Tracy Toler.
"FADE TO BLUES" will feature Billie singing classic songs made famous by singers like Etta James, Peggy Lee, Billie Holliday, Ruth Brown, and Ray Charles.
