Born for Broadway was created nine years ago as a student sponsored cabaret at Marymount Manhattan College, where Founder & Executive Producer Sarah Galli was enrolled as a performance major. Sarah created the show as a way to give back after her brother, Jeff, suffered a spinal cord injury in 1998 in a diving accident. He became a quadriplegic with a very similar injury to that of Christopher Reeve.
Born for Broadway gives renowned performers an opportunity to not only display their talent, but also raise money for a cause that celebrates the memory of two of the theatre community's most gallant and respected members, Christopher and Dana Reeve. And what better way to pay tribute to their Broadway roots?
Tony winner Julie White (Broadway’s The Little Dog Laughed, TV’s Grace Under Fire, and the Transformer movies) and Tony Goldwyn- (starring on ABC’s TV hit Scandal, everyone’s favorite villain in the classic Ghost) will co-host the show, with over 30 Broadway stars donating their time and talent. The cast includes two-time Tony winner James Naughton, Glee star Jenna Ushkowitz, Tony nominee Malcolm Gets, Book of Mormon Tony winner Nikki M. James, Mad About You and Spin City TV star Richard Kind, News Radio TV star Vicki Lewis, Tony nominee Orfeh and many more. Tony nominated director Marcia Milgrom Dodge (Ragtime) will direct; Lawrence Yurman (On A Clear Day You Can See Forever, Grey Gardens) is Music Director. For full cast and crew information check out
