SLEEP NO MORE
The New York Times called this groundbreaking theatrical adventure âA merry macabre chase. A voyeurâs delight. Messes with your head as thorougly as any artificial stimulant. Spectacular!â
Described by the Huffington Post as "a wordless, nonlinear mash-up of Macbeth and the darker psychosexual corners of Hitchcock?" and "A six-story Jazz Age haunted house for grown-ups and anyone whoâs ever entertained sick cineast-y fantasies of living inside a Kubrick movie?", this immersive show has run in New York since 2011 to sold out audiences.
Punchdrunk has pioneered a game-changing form of immersive theatre since the year 2000, in which roaming audiences experience epic and emotional storytelling inside sensory theatrical worlds. Blending classic texts, physical performance, award-winning design installation, and unexpected sites, the company's infectious format rejects the passive obedience usually expected of audiences. Â They focus as much on the audience and the performance space as on the performers and narrative.
Punchdrunk's designers occupy deserted buildings and apply a cinematic level of details to immersive the audience in the world of the show. Now, PunchDrunk the theater company that created the show, has teamed up with the MIT Media Lab to create a unique type of immersive teleperformance in conjunction with the New York production of their popular theatrical experience. This project pairs online participants with members of the live audience during performances to actively experience a unique version of the show through a variety of media.
Peter Higgin is a core member of Punchdrunk and has been with the company since it's inception in 2000. He now works as the company's Enrichment Director, heading up a department that oversees all education, outreach activity. One of his roles is developing R'N'D projects and imagining future directions for the company.

He managed the staging of it's first international project, Sleep No More (2009) with the American Repitory Theatre in Boston USA and has been overseeing the successful transfer of the show to NYC since it opened its sold out run in March 2010.
