Hypertable is a high performance, open source, scalable NoSQL database modeled after Google's Bigtable. Hypertable is in production use at some of the world's largest Internet companies including, Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), China's leading search engine, and Rediff.com (Nasdaq: REDF), one of top two Indian Internet portals and one of the world's largest email providers. A big focus of the Hypertable project has been to achieve maximum performance and to that end, the database is written entirely in C++. Language bindings for all all popular high level languages (Java, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, ...), allowing for seamless integration into just about any application.

In this presentation, Doug Judd, the original creator of Hypertable and CEO of Hypertable Inc. will present an overview of Hypertable, covering design and architecture, database model, salient features, and case studies. He will also present a comparison of Hypertable and some of the other popular open source scalable databases available today.
