Dear brothers and sisters,
Please consider the following in the most URGENT OF TERMS.
OUR SHUL NEEDS YOUR HELP AND NOW. PLEASE CONTINUE READING. IT'LL TAKE A MINUTE.
For those who can recall, our Shul was formed as a grass roots movement and so it continues to be. We began a year and a half ago with precious few resources but we've grown wildly since then. Our success is %100 due to the dedication, love and individual investment of each and every one of us. We've all been working tirelessly since our founding to make this the best Shul in town (and indeed, the world) and to that end we have and continue to enjoy fantastic success BH!
We need a home. Yesterday. We need a home where we pay our OWN mortgage, not somebody else's. We need a home to hold our Daavening, classes, meditations, parties, children's programs and all of our other important events. We NEED a home NOW because the current location will soon no longer be a viable option for our Shul.
The move to a home of our own is long over due but like everything else in our Shul, it cannot be done without the help and commitment of every single one of us. We cannot rely on outside assistance for this. We need our OWN Shul and so we need each and every one of US to be a part of this.
As you've heard, we are in contract to purchase a property at 306 Albany ave. Our deadline to close was today but we've been granted an extension until June 1st. The building is ours if we can reach this EASILY ATTAINABLE GOAL. It is important to mention here that we cannot proceed with the purchase until we've raised enough for the down payment, closing costs, carrying costs and renovations. (for explanations on these please don't hesitate to ask us)
On Succos we raised $30,000. Right now, to purchase and renovate our space, we need $150,000. This means that we need another $120,000 to move in.
As times are tough for everybody right now, we do not expect a donation from everyone; instead we are asking for a real commitment to help. This can be a gift or a non interest loan. The Shul will guarantee the return of this loan within 16 months.
We know that some of us may not be able to afford this amount so we ask for everyone to give as much as they can, $360, $500, $1000, $5000 whatever. Then we will average out. Also, if you cannot give it in one lump sum, payment over 3 months will help us too.
REMEMBER: OUR STRENGTH LIES IN OUR NUMBERS. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF FOLKS WHO ARE PROUD TO BE A PART OF OUR SHUL EVEN FROM A DISTANCE. LET'S ALL GIVE A LITTLE SOMETHING. NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL.
The building dedication will be in OUR honor.
CHEVRA! PLEASE TAKE THIS TO HEART! IT CONCERNS ALL OF US. WE CAN DO IT! WE'VE DONE GREATER THINGS BEFORE AND WE CAN DO THIS TOO!
