Just wanted to give y’all the scoop on a couple of 5k/10k races that are coming up this year. Unfortunately, they will be in the fall, but that’s ok!!! Big Peach Sizzler (10k) – Monday, September 3, 2012 @ 7:30 a.m. (Labor Day)
Registration: $30 at active.com ($5 off for teams of 10 or more) - on-line registration ends 8/28
Thanksgiving has its Gobble Jog, July 4th has its Peachtree Road Race ... and Labor Day has the timed Big Peach Sizzler 10k. Registration includes a t-shirt and the rest benefits the Cystic Fibrosis community of Georgia.
AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5k Run 2012 - Sunday, October 21, 2012 @ 1 p.m. at Piedmont Park
Registration: $30 plus Fundraising Opportunity as a team. Online registration will close at 12 noon on Saturday October 20th.
AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run benefits people living with HIV/AIDS, and helps prevent new HIV infections with more than 85,000 education program participants right here in Atlanta. AID Atlanta and the 8 participating agencies who benefit from AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run provide treatment and medications, prevention education, meals, hospice, mental health services, child care, substance abuse counseling, pastoral care, and clinical research to help thousands of our families, neighbors and friends living with, affected by, and at-risk for HIV/AIDS in Atlanta.
