As many of you may know, a few times now I’ve raised money and awareness for the RLP Shelter Foundation by breaking the record for the most number of ascents of Vancouver’s Grouse Grind in a single day.

As many of you may know, a few times now I’ve raised money and awareness for the RLP Shelter Foundation by breaking the record for the most number of ascents of Vancouver’s Grouse Grind in a single day.
I reached my goal of 13 ascents in 2009 and 14 ascents in 2010 and while I was at it, raised close to $20,000 for the RLP Shelter Foundation. In the process, I also garnered more media attention for the RLP Shelter Foundation than it had ever received before. Although I’ve hung up my record-breaking shoes for now, I continue to climb the mountain for fun.
The experience of those climbs taught me a lot about myself; mostly by showing me that I can do a lot of things I would have assumed were impossible. The experience was invaluable for me; which is why I’d like to extend the same opportunity to you for your upcoming visit to Vancouver during the National Sales Conference. Come and Grouse Grind for Shelter.
I’m not talking multiple climbs here ~ trust me, once is plenty for anyone at just about any fitness level! But I can tell you from personal experience that nothing is better than standing on top of that mountain and knowing that the trudge uphill made a difference in the lives of women and children fleeing domestic violence.
If you are a Royal LePage agent and planning on coming to the NSC in Vancouver in 2012 then be my guest and join me on Wednesday, Sept 19th for a #GrouseGrind4Shelter up the trail.
THE CATCH: As a barrier of entry, each participant must pledge a minimum (and I mean minimum, folks) of $100 to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation to participate in the event. Ask your brothers, ask your friends… ask anyone to pledge you in your home community who would get some twisted enjoyment of a mental (or heck, actual) picture of you sweating and trudging up the mountain trail for charity.
