The Rundown: Starting Local, Social,  Youth, Businesses.   On June 9th, The Relay Foundation will unite with the Bay Area's best startup and youth organizations for one purpose: to start youth-led and youth-owned, pro-community businesses.   We've brought in organizations like Youth Business America, Pacific Community Ventures, and Ernst and Young. We've brought in sponsors like Nextspace, TMC Working Solutions, and Wix. In the end, the two teams Relay chooses to fund will have a hefty chunk of a $35,000 prize pool and a team of hands-on advisors that can prepare their ventures for future investment, scaling, and deep social impact.   Hands-on Entertainment: It's never felt so good to give your opinion.   But first, they Pitch! The event will include the five final teams putting out their best pitch for the team of accomplished judges, but an audience of people who could be funding them, teaching them, or sponsoring their success. And everyone is encouraged to participate. This means asking the teams questions, providing insight, and perhaps making a few introductions. Whereas most pitch events are impersonal, that goes against everything we are. Let's work together to get these companies doing great things!   A Few Perks: Food! Drinks! Impact!   Food and drink will of course be provided, with Pizza from California Pizza Kitchen in the beginning and party foods at the end. Drinks will be non-alcoholic.   Any funding raised from ticket donations will go directly to our funded teams.
