The Southern Design Concern is pleased to present objects, tools, and products that deal with the apocalypse.

To conceive a new object is also to conceive a manifesto or lifestyle, to explore the possibilities for ways of life in the times to come. In "Design for the End of the World," the selected designers use their pieces to address the simultaneous pessimism and optimism of contemporary life and the possibility of its end.

Bar Alto, the based collaboration between Design Marketo, Modern Atlanta, and Sound Table, will be open next door at Sound Table's Space2 for a cocktail reception between 5 and 9 pm. There's an all-negroni-everything drink menu, JTrav x Eames x Marni photo sessions, Dutch design films, and an exhibition of reinterpretations of the iconic Duralex Picardie tumbler by an international cadre of designers (including some SDC homies).
