This week, folkie pop band Of Monsters and Men hits the stage at NightLife. After stomping out their competition at Músiktilraunir, a yearly battle of the bands in their native Iceland, Of Monsters and Men has made their way to the world stage in the past year. Opening band PAPA describes their sound as “American soul music with a punk rock mentality.” Plus, nosh your way through a special edition of Off the Grid on the Music Concourse, see yourself transformed into a cartoon monster, and learn about gila monsters from an Academy scientist. Additional music by Britt Govea, founder of (((folkYEAH!))) and & Isabella of (Metal Smith). Visuals by Howard Wong of ALL OF IT NOW!

Tickets for “Outside Lands NightLife” (8/9/2012) are now SOLD OUT. There will be no tickets available for sale at the door. If you were unable to get a ticket to this installment, check out all of the other awesome events coming up! Each Thursday night is different and features DJs or a band and a unique theme.

Please also note that Outside Lands Festival ticket holders cannot attend this “night show” without a ticket issued by the California Academy of Sciences dated 8/9/2012.
