Don’t miss the eighth installment for one of Seattle’s hottest summertime celebrations – the South Lake Union Block Party. Amazon.com is the presenting sponsor for this action-packed event that is expected to attract more than 7,500+ attendees.

This FREE event will feature a full day of outdoor activities and entertainment for all ages. New and familiar faces from South Lake Union will gather to enjoy fresh and delicious food from the local neighborhood eateries, a beer garden hosted by Tom Douglas’s Brave Horse Tavern, a burger grilling competition, kid’s activities and playground, an outdoor movie and…the list goes on!

WHERE: NW corner of Denny Way & Westlake Ave. N, outside the South Lake Union Discovery Center.

COST: Admission is free. Tickets for Food Booth sampling will be available at the information booth on the day of the event.

WHAT ELSE:
Proceeds from this year’s SLU Block Party will benefit Plymouth Housing Group. Plymouth Housing Group is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing permanent, supportive housing to chronically-homeless adults. Today, Plymouth serves nearly 1,000 formerly-homeless adults living in 12 apartment buildings in Seattle. All residents have access to personalized counseling and caring support on their journey out of homelessness.

In early 2013, Plymouth will open it 13th building, the new Williams Apartments, in South Lake Union, creating 81 new homes. More than half of the apartments will be reserved for homeless veterans who are working towards stability and healthier futures.
