As we enter what will surely be a heated primary election season, Super Saturday will provide you the opportunity to ask federal and state legislature officials and candidates about the most important issues facing our communities and listen to their platforms. This is a time to speak directly with elected officials and candidates from Fulton, DeKalb, and Cobb counties.
A key feature this year will be a debate of the local and state impact of the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (T-SPLOST). We have invited key supporters and opponents of the referendum, including Mayor Kasim Reed; CEO and president of Atlanta Beltline, Brian Leary; director of the Sierra Club of Georgia, Colleen Kiernan; and DeKalb County Commissioner, Larry Johnson, to discuss their position with the Atlanta community.
We'll also host two educational workshops for the community: "Georgia Politics 101" and "Considering Running for Office?"
