Problem - HOLY CRAP, summer is in full swing and we have not yet dipped our sweet booties into the cool waters of the Russian River (if only to find the occasional "butt rock"). This. Must. Be. Fixed. Like. Now.

Problem - HOLY CRAP, summer is in full swing and we have not yet dipped our sweet booties into the cool waters of the Russian River (if only to find the occasional "butt rock"). This. Must. Be. Fixed. Like. Now.
Solution - A monster tubing trip! Last year we had 30 people out there... I believe we can outdo ourselves. Who's with me?!
I can do any day the weekends of July 28th or Aug 4th, so comment below if people have preferences. Currently aiming for AUG 4. As usual we can rendezvous at that one Safeway in Rohnert Park to stock up on goodies, and hit up Russian River Brewery on the way back. The rest of "Bobby Wayne's Guide to Tubing" is below for those who are inexperienced or like my drivel.
***
THE RIVER - We do a section of the upper Russian River just north of Cloverdale. The nature is super purdy and a few areas have class II+ rapids, just wild enough that like 1 person falls in per trip. Fun!
TUBES - Available at sporting good stores for like $15, and there's a Big 5 close to the aforementioned Safeway. Look for a smaller size and reinforced material, I'll find a link later. People probably have extras too.
FOOTWEAR - ...is recommended, the river and shores are rocky.
BOOZE - ...is recommended. BYOB, we will all be buying at the Safeway. Plan to attached your booze to your craft (mesh laundry bogs are great). Snacks are good too, but no sandwiches floating down the river this time...
TIME - normally we will get from start to finish in ~5 hours, depending on how much we stop to swim/drink/be merry. I need 3 layers of sunscreen to survive this, YMMV.
