Last year I created this event and hoping it would turn a very bad day in history into something good. I ended up getting over 84,000 people responding yes to do a good act of kindness for a stranger. I am hoping i can at least double that amount this year. Please pass the word to as many people as possible. I promise you that a random act of kindness is a great thing. The following details out everything.
I don't think I need to explain what September 11, 2001 meant to everyone in this country. I would like to create a "Pay it Forward" day for the 11 year mark for this event.
Here is how "Pay it Forward" works*
1-Be attentive wherever you are for opportunities to help someone. Perhaps you have an elderly or disabled neighbor who is too proud to ask for help with their yard work or maybe you're in a restaurant and see someone who looks like they could use some kind stranger to pay for their meal. You can change people's attitudes about the world through your unobtrusive acts of kindness
2- Do something nice for someone you don't know (or don't know very well). It should be something significant, and not for a person from whom you expect a good deed -- or anything at all, for that matter -- in return.
3-Spread the word. If the person thanks you and wants to "repay" you (that is, pay it "back"), let them know that what you'd really like is for them to pay it "forward" -- you'd like them to do something nice for three people they don't know, and ask those three people to do something nice for three mPay it forward.
4- When you notice that somebody has done something nice for you, make a note in your mind to practice three acts of kindness towards other people, as described in Step 3.ore people. The idea is to consciously increase the goodness of the world.
Please send this to as many people as you possible can, it is a day of remembrance but also a day to be thankful and kind.
You might think this is strange or hard to do or corny. Trust me though, it is a good feeling when you do it. So Please join me September 11, 2012 and please post your acts on here or at least just posted you did one. I would love to overload facebook with acts of kindness.
