For September's Austin SMUG meeting, we feature Adobe Certified Photoshop Instructor, Carolyn Coffey. She will be doing a live demo tutorial about retouching and glamorization. Carolyn teaches Photographic Retouching at Austin Community College and is currently finishing a book on Photoshop CS6.
Carolyn says "Photoshop is another tool for all of us photographers to use in our quest for an amazing image. The viewer of stunning images are growing less concerned about whether something was Photoshopped. In fact, they expect it. So it has transformed from "whether or not" into "where is it." Retouchers should leave no trace. They should also always respect the character of the person in the photograph. Enhance only, never destroy.
"This seminar will be based on the above principals. I will demonstrate ways to clean up distractions without compromising the original intent of the photographer. Then I will show the art of glamorization to enhance the beauty of this young woman."
