We need to reach $5,000 by August 16, 2012 to be able to complete our film "IIII." But it's not only about MONEY. This campaign is primarily about LOVE, which can become MONEY and/or SHARING.
Please, kindly donate here if you can:
http://www.indiegogo.com/four or LOVINGLY share that link with family and friends on social media to help us create a buzz around the first digital no-budget feature-length trans-film shot entirely in the neighborhood of Hyde Park (Chicago, IL).

Short Summary
My name is Robert Beshara and I am the writer/director/producer of "IIII" (FOUR). I was born and grew up in Cairo, Egypt, but I've been living in Chicago, IL for the last 3 years. I hold a BA in Theatre (Directing) with a minor in music from the American University in Cairo as well as an MFA in Independent Filmmaking and Digital Imaging from Governors State University. I am about to a start a PhD in Psychology (Consciousness and Society) at the University of West Georgia.
This campaign exists to help us finish IIII, which was self-financed out-of-pocket. The cast & crew worked pro bono, which I am grateful for. The audio, video, and lighting equipments were borrowed from GSU, which I am thankful for. However, I still had to cover catering, production design, and ADR. And now I need to cover the audio mix, color correction/grading, a preview screening, film festival submissions, poster design, and marketing/publicity, so I definitely need your help.
Your support is your way of showing your love for indie/underground filmmaking, art house cinema, and any kind of alternative art (e.g. the avant-garde, the experimental, the surreal, the spiritual, the esoteric, the mystical, the absurd, etc.) to the mainstream Hollywood machine/industry.
The creative hard-work was partially inspired by DIY ethics, the Tarot, Wassily Kandinsky's Concerning the Spiritual in Art, Mike Figgis's Timecode, the four elements, the neighborhood of Hyde Park and city of Chicago, Zen Buddhism, and expressive arts therapy among other things.
What We Need & What You Get
So we're funding this project together. I've covered--with the help of the cast & crew and GSU--the necessary funds for all of the pre-production and production phases (e.g. catering and production design) and a part of the post-production phase (e.g. ADR). But I still have some more costs to cover as the film is nearing its completion (e.g. audio mix, color correction/grading, poster design, etc.). We started filming in the summer of 2011 and we shot mainly during weekends over the length of tgat summer to accomodate everyone's schedules and I've been in post-production ever since but I am near the end now. I hope to have the film finished by August of this year (2012). And I don't see why not if I have all the necessary funds to complete and that's why I need your help! So I will be transperant with you and share all the details so you can see a breakdown of things.
I need $5,000. That would cover:
- The audio mix which would cost around $2,765 ($35/h x 79 min.)
- Color correction/grading: flate rate fee of $800
- Poster design: flate rate fee of $200
- Film festival submissions: $600 ($50 average film festival submission fee x 10 film festivals + [DVD burning/packaging + mailing, est. at $100])
- Preview screening: $300
- Marketing/publicity: $335
We have some amazing perks, so you want to make sure to select the right category.
If I don't reach the entire goal, the funds will be distibuted between the most important post-production tasks.
The Impact
If you are from Chicago, IL and specifically from Hyde Park or just love it then you simply must support this project because there's no feature film out there that is entirely based in Hyde Park and which captures the spirit of this neighborhood with its great architecture, people, feel, etc.
If you are NOT from Chicago, you should support this film because of its universal themes when it comes to relationships (esp. friendship and unrequited love). There is an LGBT sub-theme with the character of LOUISE. The 4 main characters (MIRA, RUMI, FRANCO, and LOUISE) come from different backgrounds and have different interests, but they're all artists and they all live in Hyde Park, so we see them clash then we see come together eventually as they learn to over-come their differences and heal. So there are many angels to the film: psychological and philosophcial ones with many references to esoterica and complimentary & alternative medicine (conspiracies relating to the Fukushima disaster and the Egyptian Revolution, mysticsm through the Tarot, colors, astrology, numbers, and musical tones, spirituality through yoga and meditation, healing through expressive arts therapy, etc.).
This is my second feature film. My first one, Cryptic Reflections, was screened at the NYIIFVF, AUC, El Sawy International Film Festival, and the Op Shop v. III and was reviewed in 1 local magazine from Cairo (LIVE!) and 1 subsidiary of the International Herald Tribune (The Daily News Egypt).
My short films have been screened at the Chicago International Movies and Music Festival, Chicago Filmmakers, the market of Palm Springs International ShortFest, the Art Institute of Chicago's Modern Wing as part of the One-Minute Film Festival, International ArtExpo (Croatia/Greece), and the Op Shop v. II.
