I have had the most amazing idea to put together a flash mob for Gay Pride Austin this year. I think between the Dance Community and Friends that this has the potential to be a really positive experience and maybe even a new addition to the parade/festival. I have sent an email to the LGBT President of Austin to see if he or she can offer us any guidance and information, (for example) Exactly where on 4th St will it be safe to perform and what time. If anyone knows him or her personally, please pursade him or her to promote and support our little exhibition.

This year I want to dance to Christina Aguilera's - Beautiful People from the Burlesque Soundtrack. I think this sends a great message that we are all beautifully made and that should be celebrated. Since this is Austin and we have to keep it weird I would like every and all participants to perform this routine in HEELS!!! :@) Yeah I said it, HEELS. I'm talking pumps, stilletos, character shoes, boots, wedges, ect. Anything with a heel (Preferred some type of womens footwear)

This event is about 3 months away, and I think that will be a perfect time to learn and polish this routine. The style will be a sassy jazz funk it's not going to be difficult. There ARE NOT any leaps or turns... yet, if I can get enough of a response from the dance community we can discuss any additional technique for added flair. I do not expect everyone to do this. I will be posting videos of my teaching this routine on YouTube so I will be sending out links via email. If I can get a good response from any Studio Owners I would love to visit with each of them in hope to support our dance they will donate studio space to hold rehearsals. I will be posting future tenative rehearsal dates. More than likely they will all fall on the weekend!
