Benoit Marchant, Co-founder & Creator at Montage
Benoit Marchant has been bringing innovative, native-class, user experience to web applications for the past 13 years. As Director of Engineering at Motorola Mobility, he bootstrapped and led the development of Montage, a ground-breaking HTML5 framework to enable designers and developers to craft expressive web experiences for mobile and desktop. Montage was open-sourced in July 2012.
Before that, Benoit spent over 10 years at Apple. As the lead developer of HomePage, a web page builder part of iTools, now iCloud, he re-imagined online photo albums by allowing users to reorder pictures by drag and drop, a feature presented by Steve Jobs at his Macworld New York 2000 Keynote. After helping to the launch of iTunes Store in 2003 and working on iTunes Store's content management application, he lead the team responsible for providing cutting edge interactive JavaScript features for apple.com worldwide.
At Apple, Benoit envisioned and created Gianduia, his first JavaScript Framework built to simplify the development of rich internet applications. Gianduia was used in multiple customer-facing applications for Apple Retail. He is the inventor of 3 patents in client side web technologies.
Presentation: Why Montage?
There is a growing demand to build increasingly complex mobile applications with HTML5, in part due to it's cross-platform nature. However delivering these applications is still very challenging. The Montage framework, designed from the ground up for HTML5, provide some key designs that together simplify building complex applications. This talk will focus on two very important aspects of Montage: Components and data bindings.
Daniil Gitelson, Co-founder of Qbaka
âI worked at JetBrains, SAP, Creat Studios, my experience is in language orientated programming and highload network communication. I am founder of Qbaka, JavaScript error monitoring service, where I am responsible for back-end: efficient aggregation and analyzing of error reports and javascript agent module.â
Presentation: Why should I track Javascript errors in production?
Javascript apps become more and more complex so errors in JS code leads to broken UI, customer dissatisfaction and loss. Errors really happen because of code complexity, browsers quirkiness and unexpected user's behavior. This talk will show what can we do with it.
