 And we&#039\;re FILMING it on Sunday\, August 19 at HIGH NOON!
 The Race will eventually be online\, so when no one believes that
 you raced against the largest functional roller skate ever
 built*\, you can whip out your smartphone and show them on
 YouTube\; then watch them collapse in laughter.  It&#039\;s gonna
 be hilarious.\n

 WHAT YOU&#039\;LL NEED:\n
 \n
 • A COSTUME. Doesn&#039\;t have to be elaborate\, but pull out
 all the stops. Winner of the Best Costume Award gets a special
 cameo.\n
 \n
 • A FEW HOURS TO SPEND. We&#039\;ll need to shoot the race from
 various angles and in parts. We&#039\;ll try to get everyone
 wrapped as early as possible\, but make sure you&#039\;re ready
 to RACE!\n
 \n
 • THE ABILITY TO ROLLER SKATE WITHOUT KILLING YOURSELF OR
 ANYONE ELSE. We have insurance\, but it&#039\;s not going to
 cover your attempt at a back flip or skating backwards downhill.
 Let&#039\;s be smart\, people.\n
 \n
 \n
 WHAT YOU DON&#039\;T NECESSARILY NEED\, BUT IT WOULD HELP:\n
 \n
 • ROLLER SKATES: We will have a limited number of skates
 available on a first come\, first served basis. (We will post
 inventory soon.)  If anyone has extra skates\, contact us and we
 will kiss your wheels. In-line skates are acceptable\; quads are
 preferred.\n
 \n
 • PROTECTIVE GEAR (Helmets\, knee pads\, etc.): You skate at
 your own risk. See above about not killing yourself or others.\n
 \n
 \n
 THE GREAT SKATE RACE will be produced by John Hibey\, Stephen
 Mack\, and Patrick Taylor\, and will co-star all of them\, and of
 course you!\n
