 PRESS RELEASE\n
 \n
&#039\;Living with Art pops up during London Design
 Festival&#039\;\n
 \n
‘Living with Art’ is the brainchild of Interior Designer
Virginia White and Caroline Casey\, who had a dream of a world
where art is a way of life\, and wanted to create a one-stop shop
offering furniture\, unique artworks and objects created by
talented artisans\, often keeping alive traditional techniques.
Virginia and Caroline have commissioned a carefully handpicked
group of artists\, designers and jewellers to produce bespoke
 furniture\, objets d’art\, prints\, jewellery\, ceramics\, soft
furnishings and unique artwork for a collection launching in
 Clerkenwell during London Design Festival.\n
Virginia explains: “Why be minimal when there are so many
treasures. I’m on a never-ending mission to source and collect
hugely eclectic pieces for the home. There are no boundaries
between different eras or genres. We have not merely been
shopping\, but rather selecting artists to work with and create
something new and unseen. ‘Living with Art&#039\; is a snapshot
 of what I like.”\n
 \n
The pair met when Caroline commissioned Virginia to redesign her
15th century Kent home\, and create a British art collection to
go with it. Virginia’s design aesthetic for Living with Art is
based on her love for Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge and the Villa
Kérylos in Cap Ferrat\, which inspires the collection.\n
 \n
Living with Art will be launched with a Pop Up shop in
Clerkenwell Green\, where a specially commissioned range of
furniture and artworks will be for sale\, after which all
products will be available to order from an eshop. A website will
be launched in conjunction with the Pop Up\, and the work that
has been commissioned for sale in the shop can be viewed now on a
blog. 2012 is the year for celebrating all things British\, with
historic occasions such as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee\, the
Olympics in London and a British finalist in Wimbledon\, so what
better time to celebrate British craftsmanship\, design and
tradition with the ‘Living with Art’ collection. Each object
is for sale\, and ‘Living with Art’ supports established and
emerging talent\, with a painstakingly chosen group of talent
found by Virginia in art schools\, workshops\, exhibitions and
during her prolific career as a top Interior Designer.\n
 \n
A.T. Cronin\, who designed the thrones of the Spirit of Chartwell
that transported The Queen along the Thames during her Jubilee
celebrations\, have been commissioned to create a capsule
furniture collection for the ‘Living with Art’ exhibition.
 After a 10 year working relationship\, Virginia invited A.T.
Cronin to help create a Grecian inspired black timber and
midnight blue collection that forms the basis of the collection.
The Villa Kérylos in Cap Ferrat is one of Virginia’s
favourite haunts\, and inspires this collection.\n
 \n
Thanks to Virginia’s elegant aesthetic\, an aversion to mass
production\, and passion for finding UK-based craftsmen who
produce individual pieces and maintain traditional practices\,
‘Living with Art’ presents an opportunity to obtain unique
pieces that you can live with and cherish forever. ‘Living with
Art’ is an eclectic collection that mixes old with new\, charm
with authenticity\, and tradition with the cutting edge\, meaning
that there is something to suit all tastes.\n
 \n
Each piece on display in the exhibition is for sale\, and has
been commissioned specifically for the launch of ‘Living with
Art’ and available to buy from the eshop. Lucinda
 Douglas-Menzies has photographed the collection.\n
 \n
Everything exhibited in the Pop Up shop is available to buy
