On Wednesday, August 1st, beginning at 11am MT, Colorado will come out on Twitter and other social media channels for an hour long event to support Bonfils Blood Center in support of their relief efforts following the Aurora shootings. In the minutes and hours following the Aurora theater shooting, Bonfils Blood Center distributed nearly 350 units of blood to the five local Colorado hospitals treating victims of this tragedy. Beginning as early as 7 a.m. Friday, July 20, community members began responding by visiting Bonfils’ fixed-site and mobile blood donation centers all across the state as a way to provide support to those affected and to replenish the community blood supply.
