Ladies, gentlemen, beloved coders, founders and developers - we think you'll agree with us when we say it's an exciting time to be a tech start-up in London. Even more so, one of the things we love about all of you who come down every Friday is that you all have a lot to say and share every single week - from funding rounds, to new hires and most importantly just meeting those of you who have just started out and want to meet like-minded people. We've also always operated with one key aim - connecting people. Connecting with each other (from the big players to the one and two person new companies - everyone is equal at Drinkabout), connecting with media, connecting with international founders when they are in town and now connecting with the international community that is visiting London for the Olympics. As many of you will no doubt be aware, our founder Michael Acton Smith was recently appointed to the the Tech City Advisory Group and former Drinkabout organiser Ben Southworth has been appointed as Deputy CEO of Tech City Investment Organisation. Between the two of them, on the 3rd of August, Mr Acton has arranged a very special Drinkabout for 100 of you to come down to the GREAT Pavilion at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in Whitehall for beers and a natter with more big cheese than Neal's Yard Dairy on a Sunday morning! We will be joined by some international tech leaders (so big, we actually can't name them here...yet) who will be in town as well as international media and also our own UK Government. But fear not folks...this is no ordinary stuffy meet-and-greet. Oh no, this is still Silicon Drinkabout after all! We've got beer provided by Mind Candy so get your party shoes on and let's show 'em how we roll out East! Each and every one of you represent the only growth area of the UK economy right now - that's not just exciting, it's ruddy amazing and we reckon it's worth celebrating in style! So join us on August 3rd for a real celebration of our booming little corner of the economy as the international community celebrates in London! *********** Note: The Important Stuff... *********** Please note that photo ID will be required to secure admission. Laptops/iPads will not be permitted within the venue for security reasons; these can be left in the staffed cloakroom area. GETTING HERE Due to the Olympics, walking to the venue is advisable
