This party is more than just a benefit: we will also be celebrating the Joy Road remix album release--and birthday!--of talented musician/producer MARISSA GUZMAN, who has long been a close friend and Housepitality family member.
With special extended hours, (7pm-2am), this event is not only dedicated to the good of music and celebratory cheer, it is also a night about channeling positive energy from the dance floor to NextAid’s sustainable development projects in Africa.
The evening will begin with a professional industry mixer and interactive auction fundraiser, featuring complimentary cocktail and world rhythms selected by veteran music writer DJ Tomas SF (Umoja Hi-Fi, Voltage Music), followed by FIl Latorre then Marissa Guzman (Juicy Lucy Records), and Mr. V (Sole Channel Music).
In the Groove Lounge, we’re presenting an Afro-Rhythm Lounge with Señor Oz of Afrolicious, DJ Said (Fatsouls Records- SF), and DJ Tomas SF continuing his rhythm from the main room.

Mr. V Bio:
Mr. V is a throwback in the purest sense! Growing up in the 1980's the open-minded Mr. V was heavily influenced by House, Hip-Hop, Latin, Garage and Disco classics, Rhythm & Blues and Jazz. Experiencing Mr. V’s (AKA Victor Font) DJ sets, original productions, or remixes is like taking a trip back in time to dance music’s golden age. Before superstar DJ’s took over the spotlight, dance music was a cultural phenomenon that did what no other form of music could do – bring people together. Louie Vega saw the drive and potential in Mr. V and hired the young Nuyorican DJ / producer as his assistant at the world famous Masters At Work label. In this position Mr. V was given a rare glimpse into the global dance scene and before long was taking to the decks alongside his mentor. Currently, Mr. V is one of the fastest rising names on the circuit. Stylistically, Mr. V has a wildly eclectic sound that brings spontaneity back to the art of DJing.

Marissa Guzman Bio:
Raised in Detroit with a father who was on the Motown Label, Eddie Guzman of Rare Earth, Marissa Guzman is definitely paving her way in the music world. This singer/songwriter/producer/DJ/record label owner is the perfect example of the word DRIVEN. She does it all, and her talent shines through. In 2009 she quit her high paying job in marketing to produce her first album (Joy Road), in 2011 Black Coffee's remix of "Time To Go" went straight to #1 on Traxsource and was nominated for Remix of the Year at the SAMAs (South Africa Music Awards - US version of the GRAMMYs). In 2012 Marissa released the Joy Road Remix album with remixes from Kerri Chandler, Mr. V, Black Coffee, Rithma, Demarkus Lewis, Paul Randolph (Jazzanova), Pirahnnahead, Doc Link, Hallex and more, and in the first week of it being available, it shot to the #2 spot on Traxsource's Top 100 Albums. Stay tuned for more from this multi-talented song bird!
