From the Depths of Your Clothes Hamper … Sock Monsters!

Bored? Broke? Want to cheer up a friend? As long as you have an old pair of socks and some time, you can create your own creepy little sock monsters to get you through a boring meeting, jury duty, fluorescent work nightmares, or an all around crappy day. These weird handmade toys are cost effective, fun to make, eco-friendly and a great way to make a quick one-of-a-kind present. They make you laugh and they never laugh at you… unless you sew their face that way!

We will start with the basics - working from a pattern and planning our creations before we start. After hand sewing the pieces together, snipping and clipping, shaping and stuffing, our little weirdos will come to life. While the 3 hour session might not be enough to completely finish our monsters in all their embellished glory, you’ll be well on the way to your first sock monster by time this class is over. If we have time, we will also talk about some variations on how to turn your sock monster into a piece of functional art.
