What is Startup NC?

Startup NC is a concerted effort to advance startup activity in North Carolina.  It is run by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, all leaders are involved strictly on a volunteer basis because they care about their local startup ecosystems and the state wide startup ecosystem.

The needs of the region and the direction for Startup NC will continue to be defined by entrepreneurs.  Presently, the focus of Startup NC falls along five areas:

-Bringing together the fragmented community of startups in North Carolina

-Building the investment community (there is lots of money but little angel investment activity)

-Engaging with corporations and getting them involved in the startup ecosystem

-Increasing awareness of startups in NC regionally and nationally

-Addressing the talent gap/problem

 

 

The launch for Startup North Carolina, happening simultaneously in Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham. In the weeks leading up to the event Startups can define what they want Startup NC to be.
