"Hot Air Balloons" (afternoon workshop, ages 7-11) Travel back to 18th Century France, and find out how the Montgolfier brothers and their farmyard friends flew into the history books. Discover the science behind hot air balloons… and then make one of your very own in this exciting workshop. How high will yours fly? The workshop is free, but places are limited, so please register to reserve a place for you or your children. The Science Museum are bringing their legendary roadshow to Brighton Mini Maker Faire. They'll be taking over part of the Dome to run hands-on worksops for young makers throughout the day. There are two workshops suitable for different ages, each running twice during the day. No experience or special skills required! This workshop is the morning session of 'Take a seat', suitable for everyone aged 14-16. Brighton Mini Maker Faire is the free interactive festival of creativity and invention Activities for all ages include arts & crafts, robots and engineering, wood and metalwork, electronics, science, tech, music and more amazing do-it-yourself creation. We're open all day on Saturday 8th September. As well as all the makers, workshops and talks, there's a lovely bar and café where you can relax with a coffee and slice of cake.
