W.O.M.E.N. Next is an initiative to empower women of color ages 17 - 24 around entrepreneurship and leadership. On September 15th, W.O.M.E.N. Next will offer over 150 young ladies resources, tips, and networking opportunities to help ensure longevity and success academically, personally and within their career pursuit. During the conference, an academic scholarship will be awarded, 2 young women will be recognized for their work in the community and an entrepreneur will receive $1,500 plus mentoring for one year during the pitch competition. In addition, each participate will receive a resource guide (list of online workshops and face to face workshop throughout the year) to help them set and track their goals throughout the year (October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013) and report back at next year’s conference. We will also invite seasoned women entrepreneurs to serve as mentors as well as offer advice on balancing life and business. During the year, young ladies attending the conference will speak to youth ages 10 - 14 about entrepreneurship and personal development.
