Game Event Night at Google in San Francisco
Featured speakers: Perfect World, Cryptic and Kabam
A Game Design oriented evening with Perfect World, Cryptic and Kabam. We get to see a glimpse of Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter which is in beta this summer and recently featured at E3. We will also get to hear from the designers involved and the latest games from mobile/web game maker Kabam. John Young, Perfect World's VP of Business Development, will give an introduction. As usual game developers can give demos at tables of their latest works as this is a wonderful community event for that. Contact us at info@svigda.org
Come see Craig Zinkievich, the COO of Cryptic Studios, and John Young, VP of Business Development at Perfect World Entertainment, talk about the way East has met West in game design in online games. Craig, who is also the Executive Producer of Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter, will demo what is unique about the game and discuss some of the considerations of how gamer segmentation, in-game economy, planned scarcity, and game design interact to produce a cool, and profitable, result. Lessons from Star Trek Online, Champions Online, and Perfect Worldâs many games are applied to show how a leading MMORPG company thinks about developing a game. Kabam's General Manager Justin Lambros shares experience on differences and similarities between designing for Console and Mobile/web, a pertinent challenge for today.
