After many years of fundraising, filming and editing, A Lovely Day is ALMOST complete!
We still NEED YOUR SUPPORT! Please join us at Cha Cha Cha (Mission location) next Tuesday, August 21, 2012 for some tapas and FREE flowing sangria! And most importantly please bring your check books, pocket change or lunch money to help us reach our goal of raising of $5,000! Any amount will help!
A Lovely Day documents nine youth from Oakland, as they set out to make music that not only expresses their thoughts, but also builds a stronger community through widespread change and hope. The resiliency upheld by these teens' voices shows that they cannot be dismissed, that they are in fact some of our most important educators in a critical time of change.
We are in our final push now to get the film finished and ready for our Oakland premiere at the fabulous Grand Lake Theater on October 11. We've started a kickstarter campaign to raise $5,000 by September 1, which we need for the final sound edit/mix to complete the film:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1735206701/a-lovely-day?ref=email. If you're not familiar with kickstarter, we need to raise the full amount of our goal to receive any funding.
If you make a donation of $25 or higher, you will automatically receive 2 tickets to the October 11 screening at the Grand Lake Theater! So think of it as purchasing your tickets in advance!
If you are interested in making a larger donation that you wish to be tax-deductible, you can donate to Beats Rhymes and Life:

Beats Rhymes and Life is the non-profit organization that is the subject of the film. All donations made to the organization at this time will be directed towards the film.
On behalf of the director/producer Kerri Gawryn and all of the individuals involved in making this special film; we thank you for your continued support!
Cheers!
