In early 2009, a small group of friends came together with a vision to promote Big Sur as a culinary destination, and raise funds for the community's three essential services: Health, Education, and Safety and the Arts.
This year, our opening Night, Thursday nov 1 will be presented by the Hyatt Carmel highlands, with 18 amazing chefs, 35 wineries, and will take up the entire Pacific's Edge Dining Room!
And on Saturday, the Post Ranch Inn has graciously allowed us to have our Auction Lunch and ensuing Grand Public Tasting on their magnificent property. This will feature 20 chefs, 50 or so wineries, and entertainment!
Join us also for the Magical Mystery Tours, Hiking with Stemware, Wine and Swine, Pinot Stroll-About and our Paulée-style Dinner With Friends at the Henry Miller Library.
It's a weekend not to be forgotten!
Since the inception of the Festival, we have proudly managed to directly place $65,000 into the Big Sur community nonprofits. The Big Sur Health Center, Volunteer Fire Brigade, Henry Miller Library and each school has benefitted from the hard work of a dedicated committee that works to bring people from across the country to our small area in order to enjoy our outstanding culinary arts, amazing hospitality, and the generosity of our friends.
Check back soon for more information regarding our 2012 event. We look forward to seeing you all in November!
