Bio James studied Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh and worked for 2 years at Micro Focus where he was a Java developer, developing a *cough* COBOL IDE for the Eclipse platform. Since then he has been doing mostly PHP based web development with WordPress and very small bit of Drupal. He is general tech enthusiast and can be found lurking around the Hacker News discussion pages.

 

Designing for WordPress and Web Design: Bridging the Gap Between Design and Development - Ngaire Ackerley

There often seems to be a gap in understanding between web design and development. In this talk, Ngaire will cover how to design for users in mind, what design principles are important to consider, and how these can be developed within a WordPress environment.

Bio

Ngaire Ackerley, Designer and Front-end Developer at LBDesign, a small Communications design agency with offices in the UK and US, that works with small to medium businesses and charities. Ngaire has been working in the design industry for over 6 years now, coming from a Computer Graphic Design background in New Zealand.
