We'll be seated in groups of 5-6 around tables. After an introduction and process description, we'll have most of our time in Lean Coffee discussions, including a closing at each table. We'll then end with a whole group debrief.
Introduction & Process: In 2011 Jim Benson and Jeremy Lightsmith started Lean Coffee as a way to to grow a community, starting in Seattle, and grow as individuals around the topic of Lean management.
Process summary - Participants sit around a table and the host sets up a table-top Personal Kanban; like Open Space, whoever comes are the right people. Folks use sticky notes to create a backlog of discussion topics and the backlog is prioritized by dot voting. The discussion is timeboxed and when time's up, the group decides if they want to continue or move on to the next topic. The host/timekeeper also moves the topic stickies on the board. The session ends with folks sharing a sentence or two about their take-aways. For more information see -
