The culmination of Idea Collaboration Month (happening now at
www.InspireBoulder.com), this community-wide workshop will continue the civic area visioning that is taking place online.
Prior to September 12, we want you to think about ideas for the civic area focusing on the following themes:
1. Favorite locations and/or activities within the civic area, and
2. Examples of great public/civic places and their characteristics that you find exemplary from other places, from your childhood, travels, etc.
Through images, words or other media, we would like you to share these ideas by bringing them with you to the September 12 Workshop or contribute now at
www.InspireBoulder.com!
Workshop Schedule:
5:00 – 6:00 p.m. - Drop-in / Open House
6:00 – 8:00 p.m. - Workshop
Speaker Presentation (6:00 p.m.) Presentation about the project and purpose as well presentation by Shane Coen adjunct faculty at the Harvard Graduate School of Design who will talk about relevant places from around the country and the world focusing on the components that make them great places for people.
Workshop Exercise (6:45 p.m.) Collaborate on your vision for what the area could become. (e.g., How important is green space? Should the area contain space for indoor performances? Should the farmers market expand? Should there be round-the-clock activity?) Roll up your sleeves, work in a small group, and develop ideas for the vision of what the area could become and then prioritize ideas.
