http://www.thefamilycrest.net/
The Family Crest is an orchestral pop collective based in San Francisco. Made up of six core members and over 250 ‘Extended Family Members’ who participate in recordings, live performances, and more, the band has formed an interactive community around a common musical platform, dissolving the barrier between artist and audience member. Of their sound and performance style, the San Francisco Chronicle proclaims,“while vying to collect more musicians onstage than the Decemberists or Arcade Fire, The Family Crest harbors an affection for Burt Bacharach-style swingin’ romanticism that is sure to impress lovers of classical pop.” Fusing rock, classical, folk, and jazz to achieve an eclectic and exciting live sound, this year The Family Crest toured the West Coast several times, performed at Red Light Management’s GRAMMY post-party as a Google Play Magnified Artist, showcased at SXSW, headlined the 75th Anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge, opened The Head and The Heart’s sold-out show at The Fillmore in San Francisco, and for OK Go at Stern Grove Festival. The Family Crest have self-recorded and self-released an EP, Songs from the Valley Below (2010), and an LP, The Village (2012). They are currently working on a new album, due out in 2013.
