A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DONOVAN:
It's amazing how life often goes full-circle. I am very excited to return to the newly renovated W Hotel on Thursday nights. Ten years ago in 2002, I held my first DJ residency at the hottest Thursday night weekly in the city at the W Hotel called "nü W Thursdays". History has a interesting way of repeating itself. So with the rebirth of the W, the timing couldn't be more perfect for the rebirth of W Thursday nights w Donovan.
Since my 2002-2004 DJ residency at nü W Thursdays, I went on to host many famous Thursday night weeklies such as the private Sofia parties at the Fairmont Hotel (2004), the legendary Top of the Mark Thursday parties at the Mark Hopkins Hotel (2004-2005), and my Thursday night reign at Slide Thursdays (2006-2008). During these days, Thursday nights were King and the Biggest Night in the City amongst locals and all of the "in the know" party kids around the surrounding Bay Area. Flocks of party people would drive in from San Jose, East Bay, Marin and even as far as Sacramento on Thursday nights. People would rage on Thursdays and somehow make it to work the next day... Making that drive to the city was worth it. Thursdays were just too amazing to miss.
It's been almost 4 years since those "good ole days" and from what I have witnessed and from the feedback I receive from my friends and customers in San Jose, East Bay and Sacramento, it appears a lot of folks have lost motivation to "make that drive" on a Thursday night with work the next morning...
I hope to change all of that.
I hope to bring back the Thursday night magic. :)

the "Biggest & Best Night" in the city again!!!
