In bringing "Touching Home" to the screen, the Miller Brothers have accomplished the impossible. Beginning with no experience or contacts, only a promise to their father that they would tell his story, they wrote a screenplay and " ambushed" Ed Harris. Their enthusiasm and drive attracted a cast and crew that together have garnered 11 Academy Awards and 28 nominations. It's an inspirational story they tell in their #1 national bestseller "Either You're In or You're in the Way" (available in paperback March 30th from HarperCollins).
Ed Harris stars in this emotionally charged drama of love and redemption, based on a true story and a resonant debut for Bay Area writer-directors Logan and Noah Miller. The Millers co-star as Lane and Clint Winston, twin brothers from a working class background who pursue professional baseball careers while trying to save their homeless, alcoholic father Charlie (an extraordinary performance by Harris). "Touching Home" is a coming-of-age drama, an account of overcoming enormous odds and a tale about family and the bonds that matter. Filmed largely on Marin County locations, it features a terrific supporting cast, including Oscar nominees Robert Forster and Brad Dourif, Lee Meriwether, Evan Jones, Brandon Hanson and Ishiah Benben.
